A face steam is a meditative cleansing ritual to prepare skin for hydration. The herbal face steam combines steam with herbs that will cleanse the skin, remove impurities, hydrate, and improve circulation, and the fragrance from the herbs will calm the nervous system. The steam activates the beneficial factors in the herbs and carries them to the skin.
The herbal face steam opens up pores and pushes out clogged dirt and oil, leaving the skin cleansed, glowing and prepared to absorb serum, face oil or moisturiser more effectively. It provides a mild exfoliation as it eliminates dead skin cells and can prevent future build-up of dirt in the skin.
What you will need
- Hot water (1L)
- Herbal Face Steam blend
- A large towel
- A bowl
- Products of choice (such as cleanser pre-treatment, serum, oil, or moisturiser post-treatment)
- A hand towel
Wash your face. Place the herbs in a bowl of boiled water and let them soak for one minute. Place your face 10 cm above the bowl, then place a towel over your head and bowl to lock the steam in. Rest in this position for 10-15 minutes and focus on your breathing and relaxing your face, savouring the fragrances released from the heat. Finish by patting your face gently with a fresh towel leaving your skin slightly damp. Follow with your preferred serum, oil, or moisturiser.
